DS 07/22: What are your best recommendations for setting up a new XPS Desktop?

First thing I'd do is collect all the Licenses you need and the application to be installed.

I'd then use a program like Dell Mikgrate to copy over whatever is needed, but the Dell program can make life a lot easier. If you are knowledgeable and have a way to do it, you may not need that program, but it should make the task easier for you.

However, before I even do one thing, I'd get a program that does back-ups, like Macrium Reflect (paid or free) or other back-up solution and save the initial delivered C: drive and all the other partitions on that drive. I'd either buy a Dell installed 2nd drive or put one in myself or use and External USB drive to hold that back-up.

As I go along adding items, I'd also take a back-up to be safe.
