I ran the Dell support and update app a few ago and it reported the following critical update was available:

Dell XPS 8930 System BIOS

This package contains the Dell system BIOS update. BIOS is a firmware that is embedded on a small memory chip on the system board. It controls the keyboard, monitor, disk drives, and other devices. This update addresses the Intel Security Advisories INTEL-SA-00295, INTEL-SA-00322, INTEL-SA-00320 and INTEL-SA-00329. A security advisory is a statement when a product is impacted by a security vulnerability and a remedy is available.

@GKDesigns I have an XPS 8910 and mine shows the same as yours (same version and date). BIOS Version 1.1.5 for the XPS 8910 was released back in 2017.

There can be no doubt about the BIOS version by looking at the first BIOS screen or running System Information. The last place I would look for this information is in Device Manager.

That raises some questions...

What does it mean when one machine BIOS is listed in Device Manager and another is not?

And, what is an MS machine BIOS... it's not a Dell BIOS?

Looks like you'll need another method for confirming the machine BIOS version.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the Windows version? Mine is Windows 10 Pro and I am still on version 1909.

My Win10 Pro System Information app yields:

Win10 Pro Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363

Which is very similar to the 10.0.18362.1 in our pics.

@Anonymous Mine is exactly like yours. I am running Windows 10 Pro Version 1903 Build 18362.904 (System Information indicates Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362) on an XPS 8910. So whether it is Windows Version 1903 or 1909 or XPS 8910 or 8930, the results of System Firmware properties in Device Manager are the same.

I would also like to point out that the name/title of the System Firmware properties window that @spotteddog posted is different than what we are seeing. Also in the properties window, it has 'System Firmware' followed by '1.1.13' whereas there is nothing following the words 'System Firmware' in ours. In addition, the Driver Date is not consistent with the release date of BIOS version 1.1.3 which was 4/6/20. The Driver Date of 2/20/20 was almost two months earlier than when the BIOS was released.
