XPS 8500, doesn't boot and beeps

I have an XPS 8500 that is about a year old. I went to turn it on and it didn't boot. There were no power surges that anyone is aware of and nobody claims to have touched it. These are the symptoms:

1) Press power button

2) PC's fans spool like usual and it seems to run smoothly with no variation in power. Hard drive also spools as normal to full speed.

3) There is a five beep burst about  with beeps 1s apart then repeats over and over.

4) No received signal at the monitor. (Video card?)

I opened it up and nothing appeared to be burnt out.

Any assistance is immensely appreciated.

It would be great if it is the $2 cmos battery as listed under XPS and that is a fix worth trying, but it is has also been reported to be a major failure. Check your exact model's manual for more help.
