XPS 8500, video card upgrade

I have a Dell XPS 8500 and need to upgrade my video card to something that's 4K.  My new monitor is 3840 x 2160.  What is the best card for my 0NW73C A01 board.

Also, I have one slot open for and 8 gig of RAM.  How do I match the RAM.

Slot 'DIMM3' has 8192 MB (serial number 357730A2)
Slot 'DIMM1' has 8192 MB (serial number 357730B1)
Slot '' is Empty
Slot 'DIMM2' has 8192 MB (serial number 35772390)

Thanks

Larry

I believe you have a 460W PSU so a card like the GTX 1060 6GB version should work and it does support 4K as max resolution is 7680x4320.

As for the RAM, try to match the current manufacturer's RAM you have in slot 2 now. It appears you added that later and the system came with 16 GB of RAM initially. That would be DDR3 1600, but check to make sure the other RAM is the same type and speed. Though judging by the serial numbers I have a hunch they all were made by the same manufacturer.

JOcean's recommendation for the GTX 1060 is spot on with your current PSU for everyday tasks.

At 4K if you want 60fps gaming it will require at least a GTX 1080/1080ti / GTX 2080 which will require an upgrade to your PSU.   4K will also push the i7 3770 in that machine to its limits if you plan on gaming.

24GB of RAM is fine unless you are running processes that require more RAM.   Use that money towards the GPU upgrade.
