XPS 8700, chipset driver, won't install, #2

I've tried many ways to install this chipset (Chipset_Driver_V2D47_WN_9.4.0.1021_A00)

update and it fails every time. I'd love some advice from someone who knows how to interpret logs.

Thanks

What operating system is running? V2D47 was only for Windows 8.1. What system fault are you trying to correct by installing a chipset driver?

Thanks for the reply. I'm running windows 8.1. I was told I should update this driver as my internet has been losing connection many times a day. I've tried a bunch of other solutions, with no result.

Losing connection; how are you connecting? Using the onboard NIC or some WiFi device? If using WiFi, turn it off. Connect the router directly to the rear onboard NIC RJ45 jack via cable, then retest.

Did you right click the file and choose "Run as administrator" ?

You could also run the Intel Driver Update Utility and it will automatically tell you if you need to update your Intel INF files, and if so, will prompt you to install. Once installed, Click Start- Intel Driver Update Utility- Intel Driver Update Utility 2.0. Then click "Auto detect...".

The Intel site 9.4.1027 will work with 7 or 8.
