Yes, obviously ... measure and make sure it will fit.

Then, verify your Power-Supply will handle it. While not the best way ... at least make sure you have an available 6-pin PCIe Power Cable to use if the card needs one.

Also, it will run better on Windows-10 64bit.

Your power supply is probably a 460w, so you're good to go with a GTX 1060. Installation will be a lot simpler if you go for a GTX 1060 Mini. It's a couple of inches shorter and fits more easily into the case.

I just replaced my GTX 745 that came with the Dell XPS 8900 with a GTX 1060 GeForce 3Gb.  This was completely seamless and there were no space or compatability issues.  The power supply in the XPS 8900 is 460 watts and the GTX 1060 requires a minimum 400 PSU so good there.   I uninstalled the driver for the GTX 745, shut the computer down, installed the GTX 1060 and restarted. Note that you will need to plug in the available power cord from the PSU to the back of the new card.  The GTX 745 is  powered from the slot with no additional power needed so that additional power cord is not used.  The GTX 1060 requires the additional power supplied by the previously unused cord inside the case.  I then went to the GeForce website and installed the new driver for Series 10 family of cards. Configuration was easy and this GTX 1060 card is incredible with a big improvement in dispaly quality.    I removed the HDMI cable form my previoius setup and replaced it with a displayport cable and that really improved picture quality.  I recommend using displayport cables for all your monitors if they have those connections.  Highly recommend this card for the Dell XPS 8900 and I am puzzled by all the BS and uninformed advice I had to wade through before buying this card.
