Looks great and amazing temps!

Detail in the cables and tubing placement, lights and custom window/panel very nice.

Good work.

Thanks @HanoverB

You know from my other threads that I like to be a lot more descriptive, but the platform functionality is just not conducive to that right now.

@HanoverB  I forgot that you had that chip when you started this crazy ride with the fan upgrades. Look where you are now......

It has been a very fun,  interesting and educational experience for me, and I very much appreciate your input and encouragement.

@HanoverB  how easy was it to do the i9-9900K CPU upgrade?

No upgrade for me. I ordered from Dell with the i9-9900K processor. They had just become available almost a year ago today.

Great pics.

BTW, how easy was it to do the i9-9900K CPU upgrade?

Seamless?    Install the BIOS meant for the upgrade and install the new CPU?  Plug and play?

@Anonymous , I can't believe I totally missed this post! That's because in my mind, your rig is now an Alienware and I was waiting for this whole post to be on the AW forums. I visit the XPS forum like once a month!

I agree with @HanoverB. You've come a long way. Now onward to the Dream Build 2020!

@GTS81   @HanoverB

Today is the one year anniversary of receiving my brand new, super deluxe, XPS 8930 Special Edition with the OEM 'crazy fan noise'. Came to this forum and got much good information and encouragement from Thee @HanoverB . Of course I had 'zero' experience working on computers. After considerable guidance and assurances from The Master, I finally worked up enough courage to attempt to swap out my 92mm top exhaust fan for a 120mm fan. I can see from my records that I ordered the Noctua fan, Seasonic PSU, and SATA slimline adapter on 12/21/2018 from the Egg Store.

I have learned a lot, and I have had a lot of fun. Very much appreciation goes out to all with whom I have interacted in this Community.

Where did you get the clear side panel?

@Anonymous made it himself. That's 1/2 a year ago. Now that's child's play for him. If he gets another go at this, it'll be a clear side panel that blows this one out of the water.

@GTS81   @matt1025

If I were to do it again I would not have the holes in it. I thought I would need 'finger holes' to remove and place the panel, but those are not necessary at all.

I know this is an old post but I wanted to ask, how are do you control the fan speeds?
