Dell quietly released a new Bios in November with support for the XPS 8930 and the i9-9900K.

But unfortunately the Dell Support Assist insists that EVERY 8930 system needs this Urgent Update yet it will not install. I suspect that is because it is only intended for those 8930 units that actually have the newer processors as listed.
This is a a big fail for Dell on something that should be very carefully scrutinized before release.
Moreover, they have failed to fix stop Support Assist from routinely informing me that I need an URGENT update.
Some folks have apparently tried to force the Bios install and have wound up with a non-functioning PC.
Why would anyone do this? Because the Dell instructions say that you must manually install this update!!

So disable SupportAssist and it won't nag you any more...

Hey Hanover B do you know if the i5 9400f or i3 9100f are also combatible. Note: I will use a discrete gpu. Thx already.

@MrChardonnay - Much better cooling: More effective CPU heat sink and CPU fan, plus bigger and/or more case fans...
