XPS8930 - SSD boot drive running at 52 degrees C
I was wondering if anyone has had high temperature issues with their SSD boot drive?
I changed out the Fuji 256GB SSD and replaced it with an Intel 660 1TB SSD, and while pleased with the performance, was shocked to see it running temps as high as 52 degrees Celcius.
Has anyone tried a cooling solution (a small fan perhaps) to reduce these temperatures? Any suggestions as to how to deal with this? My case is currently stock, using only the CPU fan and top mounted case fan.
Thank you to anyone with more knowledge than I have.

Lots of threads about improving the cooling in the XPS 8930. Search is your friend.
Have a Dell installed Micron 512 GB NVMe SSD in my XPS 8930, but Speccy doesn't report any temps for that drive. So I guess there are no temp sensors in the SSD, or they're not enabled. Speccy does see my 1T HDD and my external USB Seagate HDD, etc.

It appears that the maximum operating temperature for the Intel 660p 1TB SSD is 70 deg C. According to some information I have seen normal working temperatures are arount 35-40 deg C and around 60-70 deg C under heavy workloads.
I think CrystalDiskInfo reports temperatures for M.2 NVMe SSDs.

Not sure to which type SSD you are referring . . .
I moved my M.2 SSD to a PCIe slot inside a passive cooler. Also added 120mm top exhaust fan and two front intake fans. (click to embiggen)

CrystalDiskInfo does read the temps on the Micron NVMe 512 GB SSD in my XPS 8930.
Just doing basic stuff, my SSD is at 41ºC.

Have just got my XPS back from Dell, after they Re-Imaged it (back to Factory-new) & I'm still setting it up.
This Topic intrigued me, so I d/l CrystalDiskInfo, & my Samsung P981 NVMe 512GB is showing 28 Deg C!

Looks like Intel should stick to main processors. Do we really need more stuff that is barely good enough?
Instead, I think I'll keep buying my Samsung Pro SSD's with MLC.
Even a cheap drive with TLC is better (just remember to Over-Provision).
