questions about upgrades

so i was on the internet and i seen someone talk about and upgrade for his XPS 410 he wanted to up the graphics card when i purchased the computer the kid i purchased it from installed a gt 520 graphics card but the downside was the computer had 32bit with 4gb of ram and the computer kept crashing all my games like crazy so i upgraded to a 64bit and put 8gb of ram into the computer and this thing is a little beast now but i wanna make it a bigger beast someone wrote that a geforce gt 1030 is the best option but idk which one to get i have one in my cart right now but idk if it will reach the back of the computer or work all together i don't wanna purchase something then it doesn't work https://www.ebay.com/itm/GIGABYTE-GV-N1030OC-2GI-NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-1030-OC-2GB-Graphics-Card/401985752952

Personally, I don't know the XPS410, hence I can't directly answer your questions!

 

Would suggest that you compare them:-

  • I do note that the GT1030 is a longer Card, hence you may need to check for this.
  • Power Specs seems comparable, hence unlikely to be an issue.
  • I note that the GT520 has a PCIe 2.0 x16 interface, whilst the GT1030 requires a PCIe 3.0 x4 Interface - you will need to check your own XPS (& its Documentation).

Right, 4gb max. BTX-motherboard and only SATA-2/300.
