2017 Dell XPS 13 model 9365

We're having an issue booting a 2017 Dell XPS 13 model 9365. The battery has power, but when I attempt to power it up the keyboard LEDs light up for about 30 seconds, then it turns back off and the front diagnostic LED flashes amber once. The Dell support article shows diagnostic codes that involve 2+ flashes of amber and white in sequence, but noting about a single amber flash. I've tried holding the power and Fn keys for 30 seconds with the same result. Is there anything else to try or is this laptop toast after only 2 years of light use?

Make sure you are plugged into power outlet and try to boot. If that works, the battery needs to be replaced. Batteries don't last very long nowadays. 18 to 24 months of life is common. Make sure to get a new Dell battery from Dell or Dell Parts.  Lots of counterfeits on the web. See this for more info--

Your computer will run without the battery using the adapter alone. Makes the laptop a desktop replacement.

Hi-

It doesn't boot with or without the power adapter plugged in. The battery seems fine in any case as the LED gauge shows 5 lights ie full power. When we press power, the backlit keyboard lights up for 20-30 seconds then the diagnostic LED on the front flashes amber one time only.
