Cracked sound of my XPS 15 9550's speakers

Hi,

I experience a problem on my DELL computer : for one week, the sound starts to crack when I watch a video without my headphones. But when I watch a video with an audio device connected to the jack port I don't have any problem. I tried to execute SupportAssist but it did'nt find any error.

Do you have a solution?

I'm experiencing a similar problem with the speakers of my brand new XPS15 9570. However, the headphone audio also cracks from time to time.

Re: Cracked sound of my XPS 15 9550's speakers

Thank you for your message. I will be glad to assist you with this.

Does the issue occur with both online & offline media?

Open device manager – expand sound & video – right click on the Realtek driver & click on uninstall (check the box that says delete driver)

Uninstall Dell SmartByte from programs & then restart the computer.

For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Dell-Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.
