D6000+XPS13 Ethernet not working (most of the time)

I have connected Dell's D6000 USB-c hub to my XPS13 (9300).

USB ports used for keyboard and mouse work fine, display works fine but the ethernet connection hardly ever works. Any suggestions what to do to get it working?

- I installed the Displaylink drivers from displaylink.com (and not from the Dell driver pages because it seems displaylink.com has more recent drivers April/2020 compared to Dell June/2019.

- Also did not do the firmware update from the Dell pages as this from date June/2019, so I assume that is also old news and my D6000 probably has the latest firmware?

@Roland10pont   If it would be an option, consider returning the D6000 and getting a WD19 or WD19TB instead, depending on the display setup you’re trying to run. The D6000’s reliance on DisplayLink makes it a poor dock choice overall, especially on systems like yours that supports Thunderbolt 3 and can therefore run your desired setup from a “native GPU” dock. More details in the post of mine that’s marked as the answer in this thread.

@Roland10pont Definitely worth updating the firmware to A03. No guarantee your dock will have the latest even though you bought it recently.

@jphughan I have been kicking myself after reading your excellent post on this topic. Unfortunately I already purchased the hub (and now I know why it was that much discounted).

I am also facing the same problem with my DA300 adapter. Its ethernet is not working in my XPS13. I have been trying to find the solution for a long time. However, the issue is still not solved..
