XPS 13 9310, Ubuntu, S2422HZ not recognized?

Until a couple of days ago, I was able to connect my Dell XPS 13 9310 running Ubuntu 20.04 to an external monitor Dell 24 Video Conferencing Monitor - S2422HZ.
After a firmware update that automatically started when I connected my Dell Thunderbolt Dock – WD19TBS, once I connect the monitor via USBC (either through the docking station, or directly into the laptop), the laptop does not recognize the webcam of the monitor. It can connect to the audio output/input of the monitor though.

Any suggestion? Thank you very much!

In my case, what was not being recognised was the external webcam of the monitor. I updated the firmware of the monitor by connecting it to a Windows laptop, and now my XPS 9310 with Ubuntu 20.04 can connect sometimes (not always, I don't know why) to the external webcam.
It likely has to do with how Linux interfaces with external devices, I often had problems with that.

I have the same issue -- several days ago my webcam on my XPS 9310 stopped being detected on Ubuntu 21.10.
