Dell XPS 13 9343 won't boot

Hi,

My daughter came back yesterday with her laptop. It had started to misbehave on the train home. When she got home, the trackpad wouldn't work and she had to use a mouse. She did a Windows update and then backed up files onto an external drive. Upon reboot it is stuck on the Dell boot logo. I upgraded to the latest BIOS. I also tried booting from a Windows recovery USB. When doing so it is stuck on the Windows boot logo. Hoping this is a fixable software issue. She only has one semester to go!

Thank you for your message. Please run a hardware diagnostic by following the video on this link & check if there any error.

Please try setting BIOS to defaults & check if the system boots.

Did you make any changes in BIOS like turning off secured boot?

For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Dell-Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.

What is a Dell Service Tag and how do I locate it?

I did set BIOS to defaults and tried booting.

Then I turned off secure boot and tried booting from USB Windows repair

I'll send a private message with service tag and email.

Thanks
