Dell XPS 13 Laptop keyboard letters wearing out
I am very disappointed with the quality of the keyboard on my Dell XPS 13 Laptop - B51014AU laptop that I purchased new on March 22, 2019 - less than 2 years ago. Quite a few of the letters on the keyboard have worn out. I have owned many laptops and this is the first time I have experienced this kind of problem. The keyboard is made of a matte finish rubbery sort of material that I haven't encountered before. The keys that are most often used first develop a shiny appearance followed by the gradual obliteration of the letters. I'd like to know if there is a way of replacing the damaged keys. Although on the whole, I am happy with the performance of the laptop, I cannot say the same for the keyboard. My experience has made wary of recommending Dell to any of my friends and associates.

I have likewise had this issue on my 15-5510 after just 11 months of occasional use. A huge disappointment, being that I have many other options for laptop computers. My husband bought an HP on the same day, and his keyboard is fine, which makes me sorry now that I didn't buy a different brand. Since this is a "cosmetic" issue, Dell will not help me except to sell me a new keyboard (individual keys cannot be replaced on this model). I would replace it, but I think I will just have the same problem a year from now. Despite being happy otherwise, I think that, after 25+ years of being a Dell customer, I will move on to another brand next time I purchase.
