Dell XPS 15 9550 Bluetooth Headphones not working properly
Hello, I've been having problems with using my bluetooth headphones (Apple AirPods) with Dell XPX 15 9550. First off I know that Apple products don't always work well outside of the Apple ecosystem, but it's not the case with the AirPods as it's confirmed that they can function as a bluetooth headphones with any non-Apple device. I have no issues with pairing, I've actually tried to re-pair them a lot of times in order to try to fix the issue. The issue is that the bluetooth connection between the XPS and the AirPods seems poor, meaning I can only listen to music in a certain position, when I move my head or my arms or anything the sound start stuttering or it stops completely. AirPods shouldn't be the issue as they play perfectly on my other devices. I have also encountered some trouble with Wi-Fi connection while using bluetooth headphones. I can't confirm whether the wi-fi issues has anything to do with them, but this information might help with resolving my issue. Thank you

Hi Raslik,
Thanks for posting. Apologies that your bluetooth headphones are not working properly.
After researching this, I found information on the Apple support site that says: "AirPods don’t work with all Apple Products. So first, make sure that you use a compatible Apple device with your new AirPods." So, not sure where the confirmation that they will work with any non-Apple device is.
Here is some information from the Apple support site you may find helpful.

Hello,
the information that it can work as a regular bluetooth speaker with any device (with not too outdated bluetooth I guess) comes from various reviews. For example here is an answer from the Microsoft forum confirming that they work on Windows.
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware-winpc/does-apple-airpods-connect-to-your-windows-pc/590c029f-54df-483c-996e-ab95a52e0f82
Also there is a special button on them to pair with non-Apple devices and the fact that I have no trouble pairing them with my laptop says enough. I've tried 2 Apple devices (iPhone, iPad) and one non-Apple device (Phillips TV) and everytime the AirPods works perfectly so I suppose problem lay somewhere in my XPS laptop.
Can you at least give me some information about reinstalling/updating bluetooth drivers on my laptop?

I've also tested the wi-fi issues a couple times and I can confirm that when my AirPods are connected the internet is not working properly (there is no internet even though I'm connected to a working wi-fi)

I am having similar issues with my UE bluetooth speaker. Even changed the chipset and the issue persists. Any advice to resolve this would be appreciated.

i have the same thing. my audio quality is sometimes bad with my sonny headphones on my laptop. I never had this issue on my phone with the same headset. i think it is more soft than hardware. ( I encountered this problem when i joined team speak in fortnite, i tried to solve this problem with turning the device on and off but this didnt help.) also my blue screen crash isn't fixed yet.

I have the exact same problem with all my bluetooth devices. The headphones have choppy audio and work only when very close to the laptop or only in certain orientation.
I currently have the Intel 9260 WiFi/Bluetooth chipset in my XPS. I have had the Intel 8265 before and still had the same problem.
