Dell XPS 15 complaint
Hello
I don't know where to write or call to make an official complain, but I figured that I will try here and see what happens.
So in May 2018 I bought Dell XPS 15, since I needed good laptop for photo and video editing, I choose the higher end one and paid around 2000$. At first everything was perfect, but the trouble came soon, after 7 months it started to lag, overheat and work slower than my MSI laptop 7 years. I tried to reinstall windows, clean it, install all the necessary drivers but nothing helped. I kept working like that for another few months, because with my work I can't be without PC for 3 weekse. Until I had enough and send it to be repaired. After they send it to Poland for repairs ( I live in Czech republic) it worked great again, they changed SSD, fans, motherboarda I don't know what else. But the same problem occurred after another 6 of working. This time they send a technician to change just the motherboard and it seemed to fix the problem again. So this was around 18 months of me owning this machine, since I always had to wait for good time to be able to send my laptop away ( I didn't expect that they will only send technician the second time and was working with extremely slow laptop for 2-3 months). Well what do you know the same problem happened again, but unfortunately 1 month after my warranty has expired. But I still had a warranty for the exchanged motherboard, so I tried again, technician came, changed it. But this time it made things even worse not only whole PC is slow and overheating and has problems to even open multiple chrome tabs, side with USB ports is hot too, I can probably cook a breakfast on it. So there is no confusion, I am well aware of how I should treat my laptop, I don't use it in bed, I always have a pad under it with space for cooling, I keep my driver's update etc. (Also I forgot to mention that there was noise coming out of battery port whenever I scrolled, it was like a coil or something).
So! I called DELL in Czech republic wanting my money back, but since my warranty is gone, I can't do anything about it. I think it's unfair since it wasn't cheap laptop, didn't work properlyh the time I I used it. I searched forums everywhere and I know this model had a lot of problems and I am would like to go for the new 2020 model, since I don't want to jump ship to Apple whitch I don't fancy at all.
So what I am asking is, is there any possibility for me to get my money back? How can I fight this?
Thank you very much in advance
Kirill Z.

I'm another XPS 9650 (15") user, paid a lot for my laptop, 32GB RAM, i7, 1TB SSD. 4k touch screen.
Same issues. I had my motherboard replaced last week because of another fault. Suddenly the laptop started working extremely fast - as I would expect. Lightroom launches in 10 seconds! (Not 1m 30s, as it did before). Web browsing was lightning fast. After a reboot or two, back to the same old problem. Sometimes I type and wait for 5 seconds before I see the text coming onto the screen. I have done a fresh / clean install in the past, which did not solve this. I get better performance watching youtube videos on a £150 tablet PC!
My XPS is still under warranty, only just - I paid £280 to extend the warranty. But I don't know what to do.
I recommend Dell Latitudes to all our customers who work in schools, schools order around £30k of laptops on a regular basis because of my recommendations, but this one experience of my own laptop is almost enough to make me rethink everything.
It is so frustrating. I too cannot afford to be without my laptop for longer than a day. But getting Dell Premier Technical Support to acknowledge the problem is like getting blood out of a stone.
At my wit's end.
I even posted on this forum last week about the problem, but the post never appeared. (I spent 30 minutes writing the post carefully as well!)

Hey!
Unfortunately I am well aware that I am not the only one, even the technician who I was speaking to on the phone, was telling me about the problems and that there was a lot of faulty units in that line. It really bothers me since I am a student and it's already hard enough to save money for photography gear, but now I have to gather another 2000$ or probably even more, since after this unpleasant experience I will just invest into MacBook instead, shame.

Same issue here, cannot even edit photos without running very hot and laggy, worst most expensive laptop I have ever had
