Dell XPS 9500 lid not staying closed

My Dell XPS 9500's lid is not staying closed. When held vertically or en tilted slightly, it pops open. Has Dell admitted that this is a problem yet? It seems like many people are experiencing this problem and that Dell is simply ignoring them / saying that it is supposed to be that way. This is terrible for brand confidence.
