My DELL XPS-12 9Q23 has been well working without any issue for about 5 years.
I recently updated the BIOS to version 4.5.7 after the Dell Online Support informed me repeatedly that there is important BIOS update. I installed then this BIOS update that execution failed.
Since then, when I shut down the XPS-12, I have always the annoying message that the ResetTocuhPad App is still running. Next, I need to enforce the shutdown. This is so pity since everything was working well before.
I like to avoid to trying around since additional issues may thereby be caused.
It would really appreciate and I would be thankful if Dell Community / Online Support could tell me how to reverse this issue in safe way!

On the DELL XPS-12 9Q23, all the Windows 10 updates are installed (incl. the Windows Fall Creator update 1709).

I could solve the „ResetTocuhPad“ issue as follows:

I selected Dell Support, topic „Driver and Downloads“, and listed all the Drivers for my Notebook XPS 12 9Q23. See Dell Support Link: http://www.dell.com/support/home/ch/de/chbsdt1?app=drivers&~ck=mn

Next, I downloaded and installed the following two driver update and apps update:

Dell Trackpad Driver:
- File: 9Q23_Input_Driver_WK83R_WN32_2.5.1.72_A00.EXE

Dell QuickSet Applications:
- File: 9Q23_Application_F2ND2_WN_10.15.018_A04.EXE

=> After having installed the Dell QuickSet Applications Update, the issue was solved!

Pio2,

Apologies for the issue you are having with your computer.
Uninstall the touchpad drivers from the system, reboot and download/install them back in the computer. If needed, reinstall the chipset drivers as well.

My XPS-12 9Q23 has currently installed the BIOS Version/Date Dell Inc. A05, 12/7/2012.

My additional Question:
To upgrade BIOS version to A08, do I need to install all the intermediate BIOS version A06..A08, or does the BIOS A08 include all the changes?

I updated the BIOS version to A08 (= latest).
However, the “ResetTocuhPad App” issue did not disappear.

What else could I try?

I'm wondering if I shall install the following driver to give a try (provided it can simply be executed, and if it is the latest):
Description: This package provides Dell Trackpad Driver and is supported on XPS 12(9Q23) running the following Operating Systems: Windows 10.
Version: 2.5.1.72 ,A00
Veröffentlichungsdatum: 28 Jul 2015
Dateiname: 9Q23_Input_Driver_WK83R_WN32_2.5.1.72_A00.EXE
Dateigröße: 44.92 MB

I'm also wondering what the role is of the program ResetTouch.exe in C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet.

There are others with this issue:
