My fingerprint scanner has suddenly disappeared. I tried looking in device manager, but the "Biometric Devices" section doesn't even show up. I have installed the latest drivers and updates. It worked fine until a couple of days ago.
I received notification from Dell that my warranty has expired so they cannot offer me support. The laptop is 15 months old. Apparently it is OK for hardware to fail after 15 months, as far as Dell is concerned.
