It's a new xps or used?

Hey, Maybe someone could help me. I bought yesterday new xps 9570 from local shop. When I brought it at home I found that box was open. I checked service tag and looked that warranty started earlier that I bought. What do you think? Someone used the laptop? From dell support site: Ship date: October 08, 2018 Start date: October 08, 2018 Warranty expiration date: October 08, 2021. Additionally I found a strange modified dates of folders on hard disk. Example: 'PerfLogs' 4/12/2018 'MSBuild' 5/1/2018 'Reference Assemblies' 5/1/2018 'ST Microelectronics' 10/1/2018

Hello! It depends on where you are and where you bought it. Here in the US, a retailer generally has to tell you if something is used or open box. Also the dates on the files look to me like the date the image used on the HDD was created, except the last one. That I'm not sure. When you first use it, you should register it so Dell has the correct date to reset the warranty. Vendors and retailers get 'special' warranty dates.

I bought in Europe. We have similar laws. They have to notify me about the opened box. Probably they forgot to do it. Thank you for your answer. I've calmed down.
