There have been a couple of posts about installing a Samsung 980 Pro into an XPS 9570. I've tried to replicate what they did but I'm still having problems with this.
I know the 980 is PCI Gen4 and the 9570 only supports up to Gen3, but there are reports that it will work - at Gen3 speeds.
I’ve tried changing the BIOS settings:
- SATA Operation: AHCI
- Secure boot: Off
and I’ve initiated the 980 with GPT.
But neither the BIOS nor Windows or Linux USB install media will detect the drive. Are there any other settings I need to tweak in order to get BIOS to detect the drive?
