TB16 dock bricked after blue screen during update

While updating my TB16 dock, windows blue screened. The update failed and the dock continued to work as before. However, retrying the update was not possible because the update utility failed to recognise the dock as a TB16.

After some time I decided to power cycle the dock, after which the dock was no longer recognised at all and has lost all functionality.

Zl2mjp,

Which Dell computer is the dock connected to?

The dock is connected to an XPS 15 9570 but I doubt that it is the problem as when the dock powers on the fan spins at max speed regardless of whether the laptop is connected

Click DELL-Jesse L name. Via private message, send him the Laptop service tag number and the TB16 Dell order number.

* Both the Laptop and TB16 are off. The TB16 AC power adapter is disconnected from the wall power jack. Wait 3 minutes
* Connect the AC power adapter the laptop
* Turn the laptop on
* Connect the AC power adapter to the TB16
* Connect to the laptop
TB16 TB3/USB Type-C cable --> XPS 15-9570 left side TB3/USB Type-C out port

What happens?

Read this, "How to Use and Troubleshoot the TB16".

After following those instruction the same thing happens, the fan on the dock spins at max speed and is not detected by windows.

H9GS9G2 does not exist. Check it again. What is the service tag number for the XPS 15 9570?

I have the same issue. During firmware update both the laptop screen and the monitor screens were blank. So I unplugged it and now the dock just maxed out on fan and doesn't do anything else. Anyway to un-brick it?
