Thunderbolt dock TB16 in XPS 15 9560: USB and ETHERNET
Hi!,
I just unboxed and installed the TB16 with my XPS 9560. I've followed the instructions: installation of recently BIOS + DRIVES, plug-in and check. Unfortunately, not all is working properly:
The Ethernet connection is not working properly. I've checked my router ans seems that TB16 is properly connected but the connection between my laptop and the TB is getting the message "connection without Internet access". I've removed and re-installed the last driver unsuccessfully.
The second issue is related the USB. I've two Logitech devices connected via Bluetooth via Unify USB. For each restart/shut-down I need to unplug and plug it again; otherwise is not possible to use my keyboard/mouse. I've tested it without the Unify option (each one with its USB receiver) but I get the same problem.
Thanks guys in advance for your technical support!

Just to make sure you've covered everything, make sure you're installed the latest version of ALL of these, which you can find on support.dell.com:
XPS 15 9560 firmware/BIOS
Thunderbolt 3 software/drivers
XPS 15 9560 TB3 firmware (this is not included with the BIOS update!)
TB16 firmware
ASMedia PCIe USB xHCI bridge driver
Realtek USB GbE Ethernet driver
Realtek USB Audio driver
The Ethernet "connection without Internet access" issue does not mean that there is a problem between the TB16 and the system but that everything is fine between your router and the TB16. The router doesn't interface with the TB16 NIC separately from the rest of the system; instead, the system has to control the network interface built into the TB16. It sounds like you're getting a network link, but for whatever reason your system isn't getting an IP address from the router over DHCP. Try updating all of the above and see if it goes away. If not, you could try temporarily configuring a static IP and static DNS server to see if you get connectivity that way, just to see if this is a DHCP issue or a larger connectivity problem.
For the Unify hub, have you tried both the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports on the system just to see if that makes a difference? What happens if you connect some other USB device, like a flash drive? Does that need to be disconnected and reconnected if you leave it plugged in after a restart/shutdown?
