Hello, I have been trying to update my laptop to the 22H2 updated released by Microsoft, but after restar my PC this get stuck, and I have to force the shutdown twice to do the rollback of the update. the problem seems to be related to this XPS model as you can see in this discussion in the Microsoft's community other users are having the same issue with this XPS model.
Windows 11 22H2 getting stuck - Microsoft Community
Sorry to say I do not see a definite cause for the Rollback. Problems sometimes occur offline and are not shown in the logs.
I do notice your drive configuration is not the normal Dell configuration. I will assume you have replaced the NVMe drive, perhaps that process is involved.
How did you replace the original drive?
If it's enough time to work on your laptop then why is it not working? I'd like to hear about your success with this update as I decide whether or not to push the update on my own system.
I mean, this problem has a long time, since the beta versions of the 22H2... now in the final release still the issue... Dell or Microsoft should have fixed this issue already...
It seems the thread you link no one asked for the install file, setupact.log. If you want to make that available, I can check it but no promises.
It is normally in the C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther folder but may also be in the Windows\Panther folder. Check the date and time to verify it is the correct one.
It is a large file so if you could make it available on your OneDrive or another hosting site and give us a link.
Dell and MS will release things that have bugs, that's just how it goes sadly
Yes I know, this XPS model have a bug since I brought it 2 years ago and have never been fixed...
I'm having the same issue on the XPS 15 7590. I also need WSL2 on a daily base so I'm waiting on a fix. I imagine it'll be by Dell right?
Yeah, same here - XPS 15 7590. Used Support Assist to update all drivers and the BIOS. I was happy to see Windows Update indicate Windows 11 22h2 ready for my laptop. All of my attempts to install Windows 11 through the Windows Update have resulted in a blue screen with "Inaccessible Boot Device" and then an eventual boot back to Windows 10.
I don't know if y'all have seen this post but it might be helpful to subscribe to it (let me know if it is helpful) https://www.dell.com/community/XPS/XPS-15-7590-Memory-Integrity-on-causes-an-inaccessible-boot/m-p/8...
seems that Dell is working in the issue
