XPS 15-9570 right out of box doesn't work

took out of box, plugged in, battery white light on, hit power button, keyboard backlight came on, and then... NOTHING. black screen, battery light flasing two amber one white. isn't there quality control?! glad this happened now and not a month from now.

been a Dell customer for over 10 years, very disappointed. 

back in box and returning ASAP!
