XPS 15 9570....still worth it?

College student here. Owned a Lenovo Y40-80 for the past four years with minor issues that left me eager to get away from Lenovo for my next computer. I’ve had my eye on the Dell XPS 15 for a while now and I’m on the verge of buying one with the following specs: i7-8750H 8GB RAM 256GB SSD 1050 TI FHD screen With all the issues that others seem to have, should I be looking at a different manufacturer? Dell currently has this for $1400 which seems like a sweet deal.

I personally have an XPS 15 9530 at the moment and I'm holding off on upgrading until I can get a system that has dual TB3 ports and USB-C ports that support DisplayPort 1.4 output. The latter will arrive first with Intel's Ice Lake CPUs that should be in systems like the XPS 13 by the end of the year, but it might take longer for that capability to arrive in the H Series CPUs used by the XPS 15 lineup.
