XPS 7590: Cannot install latest Intel Chipset driver
It's identified as "Recommended", but it fails at 91% every time, disabling by USB keyboard and making the track pad not work. I have to forcefully shut down the system to regain control.
Chipset driver version: 10.1.17903.8106, A07

Welcome to the Dell Community @trefork1
First thing make a new folder on your desktop and name it ChipSet
Then download the driver.
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER05518853M/3/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-Driver_KK6C2_WIN_10.1.17903.8106_A07_01.EXE
Copy the file and paste it in the folder you just created.
Close all open windows.
Then go to the folder ChipSet right click on the file and "Run as Administrator"

I am having the same issue, same laptop, same driver. I have tried using the Dell Update tool, I have downloaded the driver and tried installing it manually and I have also tried your suggestion. In all three instances I have the same issue above where the install gets to 91% and then essentially locks the laptop by disabling all bluetooth, USB and Wifi connections and disabling the trackpad.
Has anyone found a way to install this driver?

This is really confusing. I tried to install in Safe Mode yesterday, but that failed. I then restarted in Diagnostic Mode. This appeared to succeed, but SupportAssist still says it needs to install that driver version.
Today I went into Apps & Features and it shows "10.1.17903.8106" was installed yesterday. But it doesn't reveal if it's A07.
So, presumably the solution is to reboot in diagnostic mode, and ignore a buggy SupportAssist? I really don't know, as there are conflicting signals.
