I bought this laptop to replace an old laptop. It's a good laptop, in it (i7 processor, 16GB RAM, 512 ssd, 4K monitor) but it works worse than my old laptop with (core i3, 4GB RAM, 256ssd, HD monitor). It doesn't have smoothness in chrome, photoshop, sublime text isn't smooth either. But when I do (display resolution is 1920X1080) it works well. I updated all drivers, I checked the laptop with dell programs. Why does xps work so badly with its native 4k monitor ?
The 4K monitor means the system has to process and pump out appreciably more data than an FHD system will -- it's the reason why. For the Adobe apps, the GPU you have is OK for FHD - but it's not going to do 4K well. You'll need a much faster GPU than you have to run the Adobe apps with a 4K screen - something on the order of a Geforce 1070 or 1080.
