I have been using the dell dock models WD19 for a couple of years. Recently I began using one of the USB C ports for charging my phone, with a cable that only supports charging, and after some days the port became dead. No current nor data. Then I changed the dock for another one WD19, and also after a couple of days using the corresponding port, with same cellphone and usb cable, it stopped working again. I have latest firmware installed, and I am using a dell xps 13 laptop with linux/windows.
Is it possible that the cable (which looks fine externally) is damaging the port somehow? Or the cellphone? Is there any way to diagnose the problem?
