Need advise on XIO storage calculation

If we want to add 4 servers to the XIO, the requirement of space would be 150 TB (100TB for File System + 50TB for Oracle DB application). Is it possible to add it to the environment as mentioned in the below screenshot

1.png

Physical capacity used is 12.5 TB used and 51.8 TB left | Total of 64.3TB of space

Volume capacity used is 35.8 TB used and 54.8 TB left | Total of 90.7TB of space

It's impossible to say, because it depends on the data itself.

You've got just short of 52TiB of free space on the array, although realistically you don't want to run it at/near 100%, so lets call it 42TiB free (which gets the array to a comfortable 85% full).

You're trying to fit ~150TB into that 42TB.  If that's actually 150TB of data, and that data doesn't dedup/compress, then clearly that's not going to fit!

But if the filesystem is only 50% full (thin provisioning), and you get a shade over 2:1 data reduction on the rest, then it'll fit.

Your best bet is probably to reach out to your Dell EMC account team/partner and see if they can assist with determining how well the data will reduce, and thus whether you can fit 150TB of data into 42TB of space!
