XIO volume Logical block size

Hi All,

Can you guys please let me know what should be the logical block size set when creating XIO volume and presenting that volume to a windows 2008 cluster and stand alone server. Currently the LBS is set at default which is 512 for our windows hosts. Recently we migrated the data from VNX to XIO on these windows servers and it seems application/databases didn't notice any performance improvement so want to check if the LBS is set correctly and see if that is contributing to any performance issues.

The choice of logical block size should not have such a sizable performance impact on your application. Did you have any performance analysis done beforehand to check whether moving to XtremIO is going to have performance improvement or not? In a vast majority of the cases, XtremIO will provide performance improvement - but if the bottleneck is not the storage, a faster storage array is not going to help...
