XtremIO Inter socket and core sync

I'm a newbie to the storage field and was recently reading the XtremIO white paper. It says that the XtremIO has limited inter-core sync and no inter-socket sync. Could someone please explain the logic and reasoning behind this ? Thanks in advance.
