Area-51 AAT2265, not recognizing 64GB OEM ram upgrade

I ordered an Area-51 AAT2265 desktop and then, after it had already shipped, had second thoughts about the 32GB (2x16GB) of ram I selected. I purchased the recommended 32GB OEM ram modules (Kingston Fury XN09RP-HYA-A) from a reputable retailer on Ebay.

When I install the new modules, the computer will not post. The computer powers on and the lights up, but that's it, no screen display. I already called Dell support today which was not very helpful. Claude AI was much more useful for troubleshooting.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • Checked to make sure new modules are seated properly.
  • One module at a time, in either of the two slots.
  • Tried F2 when starting to access bios, did not work.
  • Checked for diagnostic flashing (alien head logo). The logo only lights up solid with the regular color.

When I reinstall the original 32GB (2x16GB), the PC starts up without issue.

Looking for assistance on what else to try. Dell support claims the ram is bad, but since I can't get either module to work when used by itself, I find it highly unlikely both modules are bad.

Of course, after all the troubleshooting and then finally posting the issue on the forum, I figure it out!

I just was not giving the PC long enough time to boot up with the new memory installed.  This is my first rodeo using DD5 and I did not realize that it goes through a memory training process when you first install it and boot for the first time.

I was waiting around 30 seconds to test if the upgrade was working, when I should have been waiting up to 3 minutes!  I only figured it out when I let the PC sit while thinking what else to try and saw it eventually boot.

Claude AI explained the memory training process and time it can take... after I figured it out (still more useful than the Dell support call).
