Aurora R10, new BIOS 2.1.0

I agree, could not find list of changes. I wish they could ad a way to slow down the power supply fan. Its too loud.

Just updated mine, still working like a charm.

But I agree, having a list of bugfixed or improvments could be fantastic, especially that we go from 1.x.x to 2.1.0, i guess those are major upgrade, or maybe some testing for the R11 if they use the same mother board

After I installed this BIOS version on my Aurora r10 Ryzen Edition the AC Recovery Mode stopped working.

Before that Update I had it on "ON", and The PC started as soon as I gave him Power from my Smart Home Power Plug. Now it doese't work anymore... I can turn it ON or put in on Last State, i dosen't matter PC won't boot automaticly. I need to turn it on by hand. I know it sounds not like a big problem but i like it when i come home from work and just need to turn on one switch for my whole gaming room and dont need to turn the PC extra on by hand.

Maybe someone has the same issue? or any ideas what i could do? beacause Alienware blocks me to downgrade this version.

Better then what I experienced. 

2 days in a row my pc powered on itself. 

I don't use sleep mode.. Only happened after 2.1 bios

The only thing you need to know:

- it still uses OLD agesa lib, so no ryzen 5xxxx

- it still doesn't support xmp 2.0 3600 so you have to specify timing manually

as a bonus it can't be installed with alienware update (it just stuck)

Mine hung also when trying to update the bios using the Dell update app. Rather scary, since I did not know if that would result in a bad flash upon reboot. Had the foresight to download the manual bios updater and ran it right after that before a reboot. Slow flashing process had me concerned, because there's no bios flash back or dual bios on this board. You think for $3,600 regular price it would have good bios recovery options.

I ended up flashing back to the previous version, because the memory settings in the bios were available but locked out. It auto selected XPM2, but I could not change to anything else, including manual timings.

Since I am planning on maybe upgrading this slow 20-20-20 (HyperX without the hyper) to faster 16-18-18 I need those settings unlocked in case I need to manually change timings.

Flashing back worked, but again very slow bios flash sequence. Always scary to flash a bios without having a good recovery option and a slow flash process. The longer the process takes the longer you are exposed to a bad flash since power can unforeseen fail at any time.

The auto updater should never hang during a flash, since the whole point of having that program is to have an easy method to update your system. Obviously not tested well on their end before rolling this out.

Also should be a change log available so we can see what has been updated, or downgraded.

Yeah, a back-flash is always risky. The intel-based machines should have Dell-BIOS-Guard (but not sure how good it works).

I would only update BIOS from boot-screens (actually the UEFI boot environment) with flash-drive.

Interesting to see this BIOS in v2.x already. However, at least they are trying and still working on it.

it's strange as according to amd one need agesa v1.1.x rather than v1.0.x so i'm just wondering what is missing

I just ordered an R10 with a 3700X on 1/12 the day or so before they announced the 5000 series in the R10. Its due to deliver today, so I created a support request to ask about being able to upgrade to a 5000 series later on. The tech confirmed that with BIOS 2.1.0 we should be able to do this since the chipset didn't change.

But I am concerned after reading that other R10 owners have already tried to upgrade with no luck.... I guess we'll find out soon!

Since I updated to this 2.1.0, BIOS, system won't go into sleep mode. I even tried resetting the sleep/power mode and it didn't fix it. I'm also having issues with Bluetooth connections. Nothing else changed on my computer, so it's an issue with the BIOS update. ON the plus side though, the system seems quieter, even when gaming!

I'm cautiously optimistic that they fixed a crash bug on my 9310 2-in-1 that would lead to a black screen, fans on full power and the battery draining like greased lightning every time the laptop switched to sleep mode. Went into sleep mode several times this morning and hasn't crashed so far (knock on wood)

this new BIOS lastest one.  removed the ability to overclock or change cpu settings completely.  I reverted to september 2020 bios update.  lets see how it works..
