Aurora R13, Cryotech upgrade

My Aurora R13 has the normal liquid cooling. Because the CPU runs hot I would like to get the Cryotech upgrade. I contacted sale already but they say its not available as of now. However, I have read that Dell does offer this upgrade. Any suggestions?

Hi, this is the best solution and yet so simple. I am surprised that Dell/Alienware did not come up with this possibility of liquid cooling, size 240 mm.

As far as I am aware Dell does not offer upgrades.

It's possible you can purchase it from Dell, but not typical.

I also do not think the "upgrade" is going to make much of a difference. Also depends on what you call 'hot". Temperature might be normal.

How hot is it?  What are you doing to get it that hot?

If your overclocking keep the cpu under 5.2

5.0 GHz is perfect.

I would re-paste the cpu with decent thermal paste.  Then check temps again.

Go here , I explained how to use AWCC and fan control. It for an R11 but still applies to the R13. Again the key is setting your Rad fan to 1 speed while game you’ll have to find your sweet spot. Also you’ll have to adjust your exhaust fans properly too. Basically you have to tell AWCC how and where to use the fan profiles you create.

If they are gaming and the fans are really loud, that means they are running at a high RPM already.  Changing the fan control isn't going to help that issue.

Okay sure ! But thought loud as if the fans are going up and down up and down … kinda throttling out of control temps and fans do t know what to do.

I mean are you overclocking ? Are you gaming at thermal balances - power balanced ? Not enough detail … besides a poor thermal paste job as you said from the factory… maybe. Are you blocking air flow ? Ect.

What fans are going crazy all

bit the cpu fan ? The R13 has more fans then my R11 so are they all working together as a team.

Lol . So next time you play and your cpu goes to 90c and your machine gets loud go to AWCC and go to the thermals and see what your fans are doing and take a screen shot. I’m curious what your rad fan is doing at that time.
