Aurora R15, 6000 MHz memory upgrade
What 6000Mhz 2x16GB memory kits have you had luck using with your Alienware Aurora R15 (AMD), with our without the BIOS trick?
I'm looking at this one but not sure it will work...
Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s DDR5 CL36 Desktop Memory Kit of 2 | AMD Expo | Plug N Play | KF560C36BBEK2-32

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide

* Go back to the top of this Alienware Desktops board
* Open, "FAQ Alienware Desktops"
* Open, "FAQ Aurora R15" to see the validated OEM memory
* Click, "Setup and Specifications". Go to Memory
You will see that Dell never validated any 6000 MHz memory.

@Mendomar06 Because then we would be back to square one. If they would support third party RAM and it does not work well, you would be back here asking how to get it to work.
What they do is they validate the OEM RAM, and they guarantee that to work.
If you are using aftermarket RAM, it might or might not work.
Retail motherboards do the same thing, they have a QVL list of RAM they validated. Difference between them and OEM's is that their list is pages long, versus OEM's having a very short list.
That means it's rare that a RAM kit does not work well on a retail board, while on an OEM board you are going to run into it more often.

You're in the same boat as me, I just got my R15 AMD on tuesday and my ram showed up today. I order the corsair dominator titanuim but am not having any luck with enabling XMP. It's stuck at 4800Mhz.
I bought the Corsair because it’s XMP/EXPO, it’s only 5600Mhz with XMP and was hoping it would work. It just sucks that Dell/Alienware don’t like to support non OE products, they remind me of car manufacturers that try to do everything in their power to make it so you have to buy their over priced parts.

@DELL-Chris M go to the comment right above yours. Look at the speed the user shared. Then realize they cant get it to work at the speed the spec sheet says it would…5600 MHz.

@fseminario He is not using our validated OEM memory as I listed in the FAQ Aurora R15. Dell cannot speak to the results from non-tested/non-validated retail memory.

Wow, dell responses here making me start to regret buying an Alienware R15 (AMD).
I'm a fellow Alienware user like yourself and to answer you Chris. If you have the ram that support 6000mhz, install it on your computer. It should only run at 4800mhz during first startup. Do the following to make it work at 6000mhz.
1) install ryzen master (Google this to download)
2) enable EXPO in the ryzen master software after running the software
3) click apply and your computer will restart. It will take awhile, Do NOT manually turn off your computer. Just wait about 5-10 minutes.
4) computer should restart and should be running 6000mhz.
Monitor your CPU voltage. Not the one that's usually 1.3+V, but the one that is about 1.1V - 1.2V. if it goes higher than 1.3 in your applications, figure out how to keep it under 1.3V or chnage the speed back to 4800mhz.
Good luck friend. I agree dell does want you to use their Ram only...

I spent a decent amount of money on my system and I SHOULD have the freedom to modify it as I please, after all it is MINE. Dell only allowing XMP support on RAM that THEY see fit is what makes me upset, why not enable XMP for all RAM and if it doesn’t work well that’s on ME. We’re upset because Dell only wants me to buy their over priced RAM modules.
Best of luck to you,
MM

@Vanadiel I understand what you’re saying, but if they at least enabled it, I’m free to try what ever I want, knowing the risk.
My assumption may be wrong but it seems like they purposely block anything they haven’t validated to try to force you into buy their over priced RAM.
But I digress, it’s in there it’s working and it is what it is.

@Mendomar06 nice. Glad it worked.
The screenshot does looks different than my version of ryzen master.
So we're you able to see what your SOC voltage is? Should be around 1.2V.

@Aqn104 that’s Alienware command center, haven’t looked at voltages but I haven’t really been using my computer these last couple days. I’ll check tomorrow.

@Aqn104 Checked this morning while running a stress test, stayed at 1.184-1.191 on Ryzen master, the last being the highest it ever hit.

@Aqn104 Same here, This alienware is not working properly. Thought I did enough research on this, but to have such a high mark up to tell your users this is insane. Never buying anything dell/alienware related and forever will be talking about them to all my friends. This is a SCAM.
I have the intel version otherwise I'd try this too, thanks for sharing.

Dell, your policy is atrocious. To treat your customers like this is insane and I'll forever be spreading how asinine your support is and way you treat your customers. Saying this because someone has to and I'll keep speaking poorly on dell to all my friends as long as these policies persist. What a dull take with everything that's going on.
