Aurora R15, upgrading the NVMe M.2 SSD(s) and SATA SSD

I purchased two Samsung NVME M.2 SSD 4TB drives and a SATA 2.5" SSD to upgrade my Aurora R15. I am concerned about the Trusted Platform Module security system and Bitlocker. I tried to copy the M.2 drive but Samsung magician said it couldn't copy the drive. I would really appreciate it if someone who has successfully done this could give me some guidance.

@Vanadiel

Thank you and I will. I got the c drive cloned and replaced. Seems to be working ok so far. I saw there was a thermal pad under the m.2 drive. I suspect I should get a new thermal pad to put under the additional m.2 drive that I am going to install in the additional slot. After that I am going to clone the HDD in the system and replace it with a SSD.

After all the drives are replaced and installed, I should turn the BitLocker back on.

If you have the drive encrypted with bitlocker, decrypt it first, then clone it.

I will do that and let you know. Thank you for the support, I was a little leery about doing this without someone's advice who has done this already. I was worried about the TPM chip rejecting the new drive and then rejecting putting the original drive back in. It sounds like that shouldn't happen.

Just remember to keep the old drive in a safe location until you are satisfied with the cloned version.

@mechwarrior1113 If you have a Samsung drive they typically do not require any extra thermal pads. It was odd it was underneath the drive. Normally they are at the top of the drive.

You might also want to check the very tiny socket that holds the screw to hold down the SSD in the spare slot. If I am not mistaken they do not come with the tiny screw...

It's an M2X3 service manual
