Aurora R6, stock, new GPU Upgrade?

I was thinking about upgrading my pc's GPU, therefore I was looking to get either a rtx 2080 or a rtx 3070. But I wasn't sure if both of them were good for the Stock pc. I am just looking for a better GPU without needing to add any new power supply. Please help!

basic psu calculator

RTX 3070

Load Wattage:429 W
Recommended PSU Wattage:479 W

RTX 2080

Load Wattage:424 W
Recommended PSU Wattage:474 W

the load wattage is min psu.  so you are covered to go

What CPU do you have by chance? I still game with my R7 - i7-8700k

I believe you can still upgrade your GPU even with the i7-8700. I added this some years back it works great and fit perfect.

EVGA - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC Ultra Gaming 11GB GDDR6

My power supply didn't need an upgrade either.  850W EPA Bronze PSU Liquid Cooled

I believe the 3070 would be cheaper, but doesn't out preform the 2080Ti

Considering the age of the machine and cost of a GPU upgrade, I would look at other options.

@22GREEN

My CPU is a i7-7700k. I am just worried that a new GPU would also mean I need a new power supply. The thing is that I only know that my power supply right know is the original one that came with my Alienware. Therefore I was wondering if there was any options of upgrading my GPU without changing anything else.

@22GREEN

My CPU is i7-7700k. I want to look into finding an upgrade to my GPU without changing anything. I know that with some GPU I would need a new Power supply. Right now I still have the original power supply that came with the Alienware R7

if you have i7 7700k then your aurora is not R7 but R6.

R7 only supports Intel 8th gen cpu and is not backward c/w Intel 7th gen cpu.

so is it actually 7700k R6?

@redxps630 Honestly, I didn't know which one was mine and did a little of research, but yes my CPU is really 7700K. So I am guessing that it is R6 then? (I'll edit the original question) With that being said, my question still stand about upgrading the GPU with trying to change anything.
