I have the same problem. Watch that awccservice mine sometimes will use 300mb plus of memory. And my Awcc background cpu usage is 20 to 28%. My temp solution is to open alienware command center select profile and reapply everything then exit. What monitor are u using and your aw model?

@AaronW129My pc is Aurora R9, Keyboard AW768, Monitor AW2720HF
The issue is definitely caused by the FX not able to detect accessories after first installation.
I have fixed my issue. Now AWCC.Background.Server does not hog CPU usage after boot up.
What i did was:
1. install AWCC 5.2.81.0
2. open AWCC interface and go to FX. Check what alienware accessories are not detected. Mine was keyboard AW768 not detected.
3. Install keyboard driver.
4. Go to Microsoft Store and install update all add-on components.
5. reboot and issue is not fixed.
6. Go to "Add or Remove programs". Uninstall Alienware Command Center, then uninstall Alienware Command Center Suite.
7. Reboot and reinstall AWCC 5.2.81.0
If it's working, can see that AWCC.Background.Server does not hog CPU usage right after installation finished. Check if FX detects all attached alienware acessories.
I then update AWCC to latest ver. 5.2.89.0 via Microsoft Store

Thanks dude you saved me I’ve been running with high cpu usage because of this app for 8months without knowing also in the AWCC settings you almost want to disable everything
- Diagnostic Data: NO
- AlienFX API: disable unless you use it
***I think this is the big one profiles!!!
- auto profiles: off or switch it to your “balanced” power management
For some reason it’s like it overrides your power management just for this app which makes it use high cpu usage. Thanks and hopefully this helps other people

Not sure what Aurora you have or version of AWCC you are running. However, traditionally ...
That is the purpose of "Fusion". It brings the Windows Power-Management settings into AWCC.
There used to be a "Alienware Fusion Service" that kept them synced in both places. Personally, I never cared for it ... as it was only slightly useful when it worked, but caused substantial problems when it derailed.

Thanks to everyone on this thread. I finally had enough with the CPU hogging. My fix was simple. I simply opened the Alienware Command Center, went to Power Management, and set AlienFX to Off. AWCC.Background.Server is now showing 0% CPU. Win!

Open up FX and just click through your accessories for it to recognize it then it will go to 0%. I kinda like the lighting affects. This happen to me today for the first time, I noticed in AWCC my cpu was like 4.7-4.8ghz when when I opened up task it was showing very high 3 gbish. But yeah you can down but then all the wonderful lighting affect will shut down too. So I just opened up awcc-fx and clicked one time on all my Alienware accessories while task manager was up, it finally recognized whatever it didn’t and went to 0%
But every time I boot up I have do this again... weird. I just added a new AW3420DW monitor so it may have triggered something. I may have to update AWCC.
