AW2521H, current Hz equal to maximum in G-Sync

Question

Hi ,

I doubt G-Sync works because during a game with V-Sync on, in Menu > Others > Display Info, current Hz always are at 360Mz, like maximum Hz.

In all others monitor Dell, Asus monitor I tried, during G-Sync, current Hz Is a value that fluctuates according to game FPS .

But in this monitor show no variation, like if G-Sync is disabled.

Obviously is active in Nvidia control panel.

So I don't know if it Is a firmware issue or I have a problem with G-Sync.

Should help to know if your AW2521H show the same STATIC value, (360Hz) , during game with G-Sync on, both on current and maximum Hz with no fluctuation on current Hz.

You should never use Gsync and Vsync together:

- Vsync: synchronizes the frame rate with the refresh rate of the monitor. (or tries to, it's a static value).

- Gync: synchronizes the monitor's refresh rate with the frame rate of the video card. Basically a Variable refresh rate.

Disable Vsync, and try again. Unless your video card can constantly provide 360 FPS, your monitor's refresh rate should drop to match the frame rate of the video card.

in display info current and maximum hz of the monitor always show 360 regardless of any combination of vsync off/on ( gsync always active ) .

The point is , current hz with gsync on should be the equal to fps of the videocard , for example a variation of 150/160fps , should be current hz : 150/160.

the fact it always show a fixed 360hz like if gsync is disabled, is a problem . A firmware bug or a gsync activation problem.

I don't agree with vsync off and gsync on solution ,

because has been declared by nvidia years ago that vsync and gsync sould work together , for the simple fact that :

1) gsync works if fps go under max refresh of the screen by sync 1:1 hz to fps , preventing STUTTERING

2) and vsync works if fps go above max refresh of the screen by capping max fps of videocard and matching with max refresh of the screen , preventing TEARING

They both should be enabled. I invite you searching directly on nvidia site

All, let me clarify our Dell monitors listing in the OSD Menu- Others- Display Info. What you are seeing is working as designed. The Hz listed in the monitor OSD simply lists the Current Hz setting as sent from the PC video card to the monitor and the Maximum Hz that the monitor can output.
