AW2721D, vertical lines
Hi Guys,
I bought a monitor last month (37 days ago) from Dell Australia, the AW2721D. I noticed yesterday there are now vertical lines in my display again. I firstly noticed them in a white window but this was fixed when I turned up the brightness.
The second time it appears to affect 66% of my AW2721D. It only appears with refresh rates above 225+ and beyond. If I set my AW2721D to 200Hz, it works fine. I have changed the cables, port, updated the drivers, even uninstalled and installed the drivers and the issue is there at high refresh rate. There is nothing shown with the self diagnostic tool but I am guessing that is because the refresh rate in the tool isn't at 230Hz plus. Is there any known fixes? I really like the AW2721D and would prefer not to return it.
Thanks
Duc

Our users out here will need more data to correctly troubleshoot =
* To what Nvidia video card and port is this Nvidia G-Sync AW2721D monitor connected?
* What PC model?
* What operating system?

The preset display modes for DP connections are 200 Hz and 240 Hz at native resolution (2560 x 1440).
230 hz or 225 Hz would not be modes that are supported.
You would have to ensure that the windows display driver is set to either use 200 Hz or 240 Hz screen refresh rate.

I think at this point in the troubleshooting process it might be best to contact DELL technical support and ask for their assistance, since this is a a fairly recent monitor and should still be in it's warranty period, should there be anything wrong with the hardware.

hey, sorry to hear you're having issue too. I have the same monitor and a ASUS 3080Ti and have nearly the same issue as you. When set above 200hz, monitor has horizontal lines and starts glitching. I even did a clean windows install.no help. only reducing the refresh rate to 200hz fixes the issue. here's a video. mine might be more severe

Hi, exact same issue on my 240hz fast-ips AW2521HF bought in April 2021
I have the best possible proof with this picture, as you can see there is no input signal and a burned picture is visible. This is the proof that something is wrong.
Also Issue appear on both HDMI and DP with 3 different devices and 3 different cable (laptop with intel integrated GPU and Desktop with RTX 3070 graphic card, bu also with an IPAD Air 4).
I even bought a VESA certified DP 1.4 cable and it doesn't change anything.
Issue seems global as many users complains here : Slight flicker, vertical lines and burnt-in on my new alienware AW2521HF. : Monitors (reddit.com)
Could we have a valid answer on this real case ? We need to solve this, either by finding the root cause or getting a refund. Moreover if the root cause is on the software side we could solve it with a simple firmware upgrade. So we need to work on this.
