BIOS Admin password
Just ran out of warranty back in July, never had to use this far. Anyways computers been a little slower recently especially with all the new games coming out, which is to be expected. I knew the high performance I had wouldn’t last forever. Anyways I decided I’d start overcloking my PC but can unlock the option since I don’t know my password. And Dell won’t even let me send them a support email without my warranty. And due to work and school I don’t have time to call their 7am-12pm central support. Just curious if anyone knows the general admin passwords or defaults used or if there’s an easier way to find out what mine is?
Thanks!

If it is BIOS admin password you can reset it to none using password jumper reset on motherboard. you have not said which AW it is. In general you may find a blue jumper on mono with silk screen writing of passwd next to it.
for example if it were Aurora R8
Procedure
1 Locate the password jumper (P215) on the system board.
For information on the location of the Password jumper, see System-board components.
2 Remove the jumper plug from pins 215.
3 Follow the procedure from step 8 to step 9 in "Replacing the power-supply unit".
4 Replace the left-side cover.
5 Turn on your computer and wait until the operating system is completely loaded.
6 Shut down your computer.
7 Remove the left-side cover.
8 Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 3 in "Removing the power-supply unit".
9 Replace the jumper plug on pins 215.

Thanks for a solution but if an option exists where I don’t have to mess with my MB than I’d prefer to take that route. I should have stated in my inquiry but I have an Alienware aura R6. Also I received a private message which seemed it would be helpful asking for my service tag. In the event it were a scam could providing that information to the wrong person affect me in any way? Thanks again!

It is probably Dell bot asking you in an automatic private message. It is often just a friendly gesture from Dell but may not really help you solve issue.
Jumper reset may be the only way to reset forgotten password.
procedure for R6 is same as R8.
but back to why you want to have password. Dell does not give you much freedom to overclock Aurora cpu. If your pc feels slow perhaps you can think in other directions to improve its performance. W new games you might need a more powerful gpu than OC the cpu, or get a brand new gaming pc more suitable for modern games. Just saying even if you cracked the password do not expect significantly better performance from tweaking R6 cpu frequency.
