17 R5, Factory Reset Files
So I just purchased my 17 R5 and believe there was some issue setting windows up. First time round it got stuck on logging in to Microsoft account as I had forgotten my password and when I clicked on "forgot my password" accidently ended the email with @gmail.com instead of @hotmail.com and from there the only options were send email to X or send text/call to X. Non of which were mine and there was no back button. So I hard reset the laptop to reattempt (as I had finally remembered the password). It worked seemingly well this time around except for a hiccup where after hitting "Next" on one section (I believe after putting in my Microsoft account) cortana began to say something but then cut off while at the same time the screen seemingly jumped from a section (a flash really so couldn't tell for sure). Setting up never asked me for what I wanted to name my C://User file to be named so it seems to have defaulted to the first 5 letters of my hotmail address, which looks weird. Seems the only way to change that is to factory reset, but I've been told to make sure it resets to a version as if it came straight from Dell with all the Alienware programs and apps is to download a Windows restore copy, but I'm having a hard time finding that on the site if anyone here can help. Or if you have an alternative solution to my main "problem". Thanks :)

Hi @bawb88,
There are high chances your image will be reset to the standard Windows version.
But don't worry! All the Alienware Software can be downloaded from our Drivers website on the following link:

Thanks for the response and link! I actually found a recovery program in Bios that reset it to Alienware/Dell factory standards, aka just how I got it when I opened the box.

Try F8 on bootup. I believe it is in that menu. If not, try F2 or F12.
