You'll need to place a voice call to Dell support. Upon verification of ownership, they'll generate an unlock code for your system.

I thought you can just remove the cmos battery for 15 minutes and then reconnect it and the bios password is gone?

I had called support and they gave me a master password but it doesn't work. They are supposed to call me back.
I did notice that I'm getting 3 red and 1 blue light flashes which means the cmos battery is bad. Could that any affect of the master password not working?
Thanks

Well I know it holds the date and configuration of the BIOS but since it holds the configuration and the cmos battery is dead then it means the configuration for the laptop is gone as if you overclocked it in the bios, it’ll not remember it once it shuts off.

It is recommended that you can clear the password and reset it.
Clear the password by discharging the motherboard, find the 3V button battery on the motherboard, take it out, and unplug the power plug on the back of the host. After a few minutes, install the battery and plug in the power plug. The password will disappear after booting. .

I will literally screenshot your message and keep it in my notes because of how useful your info is!
How do you know these things? Because like I’ve never seen this on dells website but hey, if you know it I’m going to memorize it.

xiaomei, I did that many times, still nothing. By chance would you have any other thoughts about it?

If you have no luck from Dell then head to ebay and there are a few guys who can give you a master password. Resetting the CMOS will not clear the BIOS password. It is there to protect the machine.
It should cost you about $10-15 to get a password from ebay. I used this recently and it worked great.
This is the guy I used
