Alienware m15 R5 f4, 4, r, f keys not working

Question

I’ve had this laptop for around 4 years now and I’ve never had such a problem before. I cleaned the keyboard normally but there’s no improvement.

My f4, 4, r, f keys don’t work but after I press and hold for a while it works for a bit but doesn’t last. I don’t know if this is a software issue or a hardware issue but it’s pretty frustrating.

Please direct me to any fix that will help me. It will be really appreciated!

Check the condition of the battery - it's not uncommon for an end of life battery to swell, and when it does, it very often shows up as keyboard or touchpad issues.

If the battery is swollen, remove it and dispose of it outside your home or office. Order a replacement.

Have you tried using a can of compressed air to blow out any contaminates?
