Storage node addition to a 4 node Gen4LP cluster
Hi All.
1. We have a 4 node Gen4LP cluster. Two of them server as access+storage. the other two are only Storage
2. Each cluster has 4X699GB drives
3. We are running low on Storage space.
4. We are planning to add two more Storage nodes only
5. Is this perfect? Reason am asking is because I ran through online support of Centera which, apparently, adviced we need to add storage in multiple of 4 nodes to a Gen4LP cluster
Awaiting reply,
Ashwi

you could have 2 node extension only with centra star 4.0. Look at EMC Centera Server Release Notes V4.0 A44 at powerlink -> support -> technical doku -> hardware -> centera
It says on page 13:
Two node Gen4LP expansion
CentraStar 4.0 supports adding capacity expansions as small as two
Gen4LP nodes at a time to cubes consisting of Gen4 and/or Gen4LP
nodes. Before this release the smallest capacity expansion was four
Gen4LP nodes.
