Dell XPS 15 9530 - 2 motherboard replacements in less than 2 years?? Ridiculous
I bought the XPS 15 9530 based on recommendations for my daughter going into Civil Engineering in August 2024. In October 2024 the laptop died. I sent it in to get a diagnostic done, and it needed a new motherboard. We were desperate so I paid and had it shipped to her. $600 later. Same thing happened a few weeks ago, and now Dell is telling me another Motherboard is needed, and $450 plus tax. So 2 motherboards in less than 2 years? An additional $1000 for an already pricey laptop?? Why would I ever recommend Dell to anyone. Thinking at this point we sell it for parts and buy an HP. I have had an ASUS since 2020 with zero problems.

Just as an FYI I had to pay $500 for a new motherboard including diagnostics, with no information from Dell Tech about why the 2nd motherboard died so quickly. Just that it needed a new one. AND the new motherboard only has a 90 day warranty, so if it dies again in 91+ days I am selling the laptop for parts. I would never recommend Dell to anyone.
