24+ Second API Calls

API calls with Basic Auth are taking at minimum 20 seconds extending to 1 minute+. It is LDAP integrated, and I believe it to be auth because not providing any Authorization header will return 401 within 16ms, but things as trivial as collecting the system uptime take 30s-60s.

Any ideas where to look for what's occurring here? Considering the structure of the API, its impossible to keep from having to make multiple calls (thanks by the way..) so currently to get a block of information on a particular server the page load takes nearly 3 minutes..
